GAH! STUPID PHONE! Ok, I just finished seeing a Ghibli film, The Secret World of Arietty, but I got Worldy Wise words to study, so I decided to mix them. Make a review using all of my Wordly Wise chapter 12 words. So, let’s start with this, I love Ghibli. Every one of his films is inclined to be a classic, but, is this film the same? Let’s find out. “I don’t mean to intervene, heh, heh, this is fun, but anyway, you must be aware that he made other films, so you must compare the two” Yea, Poor Man, I’m aware of that. “But, I, personally, want to give my own opinion when you’re through here, to make things interesting” Poor Man, are you saying I’m boring? “Yes”. Ok, moving on “Cough cough walnut" Let’s start with the characters. Arietty is a good heroine, I found myself caring about her throughout the film. Then there’s Sean, a boy awaiting heart surgery. This may be considered nitpicking but he was kind of creepy. When he left a note “You forgot something” I felt like I was watching a horror movie! Though he’s a little short on emotion and he’s kind of creepy, there was something about him that kept my mind on him. Now, there’s the villain, a housekeeper. Talk about someone not to hire! SHE’S INSANE! I mean it; she’s probably the most distraught person you’ll ever see on the big screen. And that’s why she’s my favorite Ghibli villain, she’s hilarious, and her craziness leads to an interesting plot. Though, she needs help… mentally. Now, for my favorite character, Arietty’s mom. She’s just hilarious; she is the comedy of the movie. She’s also the one who the housekeeper abducts. The father is like Sean, he’s lacking of emotion but still, he sticks in my mind. The cat was funny and the aunt, well, she’s not really memorable but she does her job of explain the past. There’s also an Indian stereotype borrower, (What's his name, Stripper, Stipper, Skipper) and he’s funny, but seriously, who carries a cricket leg in his jacket? Oh yea… long story. The animation is gorgeous. I haven’t seen traditional animation this good since Princess and the Frog. And these days, 2-D animation comes around as much as the Earth orbits the sun. The story is also gorgeous. It’s like Miyazaki knows what we’ll think will happen, so he doesn’t do it. Don’t know how you do it Miyazaki, but you did it. Now for the flaws… yes, no. No flaws. It’s flawless. J Yes, it feels like this movie is perfect, and it’s also gorgeous. Unlike Hoodwinked Too, who’s animation is an abyss of sloppiness and lack of effort, everything in this movie attributes to a great and capricious story. This is the abode of animation classics. A modern day landmark, not only do I give it an A+, but also the first ever Imagination Planet Ticket of Quality, when the movie is as gold as waffles itself. “Gold as waffles, ha, yea right, personally, this is the sacred stinker”. Ok, Poor Man, as devout as you are, DO YOU EVEN HAVE A HEART?! “Of course I do, because then I would be dead” Want to bet on that. “You don’t have the (Beep), hey, did you text Me? Hey! Is that really a necessity!? Ha, I’m funny. (Beep) Ok, that’s too far! Can’t we compromise, why don’t we arbitrate this misunderstanding?” Stop stealing my job waffle loving freak! Oh well, forget you, to me this is one of my all time favorites. “More like all time stinkers. This movie failed to enlighten me”. Yea, yea. Wait, why don’t I just close hotmail? “Ha ha, it doesn’t just work York. You need something like a” ….. That worked, anyway, my ratings Story: 93/100 Though the ending is bitter-sweet, this is some of the best story you’ll ever find. Characters: 79/100 It’s kind of a hit and miss, but the good ones are really good. Comedy: 75/100 This isn’t what you’ll remember from the movie, but it is really good. Heart: 95/100 Ok, I haven’t seen an ending this good since Toy Story 3 (Also bitter-sweet). The heart and the comedy are very well mixed, and this is the highlight. Overall: 85.5/100 Though some humor and characters are hit and miss, the real things that count here, the story and heart, is outstanding. Not only did I enjoy it, but so did my dad and my mom says this is her new favorite movie. So, with the Ticket of Quality and an A+, this is a movie worth seeing. Might be my favorite Ghibli film, but I’m still debating when ether or not it’s better that Totoro, but we’ll see when time calls for it, but for now, go see it. It won’t be on theatres forever. So, what are you doing here, go on Fandango and check the best show time. Go young ones, and let the force be with you. “Overdone” I THOUGHT I GOT RID OF YOU! Next Time: A Mystery Review
